STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: SAVANNAH LEWIS
Senior, Westminster High School, Cybersecurity Pathway and Aerospace Engineering Pathway at the Iver C Ranum Innovation Campus.
Who better to feature as What’s Up WPS’s first Student Spotlight of the school year than Savannah Lewis? Savannah is one of the first students in the district to attend classes at the new Iver C Ranum An Innovation Campus. And she is the first student to do it in two pathways at once - Cybersecurity and Aerospace Engineering Technology! This means she gets to spend much of her day learning all about the great CTE and STEM curriculum that WPS has to offer. When you meet her, you get a real sense that this is a student who loves science and technology and will thrive at this campus and in the real world when she graduates in May 2025.
Her teacher Robbie Ferguson, Aviation Engineering Instructor at Ranum, thinks the world of Savannah. “She is getting her Drone License 107 and will be able to go anywhere with that certification that she wants.” As you can imagine there are so many jobs out there for drone operators these days.
However, she is also a contender for cyber security experts. Teacher Sergio Figueroa writes, “Savannah is an outstanding student who I am so excited to have in this first class at the new campus!”
Plans after graduation: I want to go to work as an aviation engineering tech.

What has WPS meant to you: WPS has provided me with lots of great learning opportunities and that is the main thing for me that’s important.
Best school memory: Last year, my friend accidentally kicked my burrito out of my hand and it went all over another friend’s sweater…we had the best laugh. We still laugh about it today.
