Construction Technology

 

Colorado has gained more than 16,000 construction jobs in the last year, and the industry continues to grow. Jobs are in demand, and employers are looking for you!

The Construction program provides a strong foundation for the skills required by the construction industry. Students learn about woodworking, fine carpentry, residential construction systems, and advanced trade skills used by industry professionals. Carpentry Technology 2 allows for OSHA certification and training in Sketchup.

WHS Courses:

  • Woodworking
  • Carpentry Technology 1
  • Carpentry Technology 2

Industry Credential(s)/Advanced Credit:

  • Students can earn the HBI/PACT industry credential, as well as the OSHA 10 credential. 
  • Students can also earn college credits through Front Range Community College. 

 Construction Student Organization - SkillsUSA

  • All students in construction classes have the opportunity to join SkillsUSA.  Student organizations help students provide training and realistic learning experiences to prepare students for employment in careers, develop leadership skills, and more.  If you are interested, ask Mr. MacDonnell how you can be involved.
